Also displayed is their Pink Bear "Hope" and a Cherry Blossom Wishing Tree where the public can write messages of hope and encouragement to others affected by breast cancer.

"We are so grateful to our community to everyone who contributed to the success of this event, said Kathryn Tucker, community development manager for the Northeast Region of the American Cancer Society".

This year's goal is to raise more than $37,000, which is used for breast cancer research and programs that provide services to breast cancer patients, such as Look Good, Feel Better and Reach to Recovery.

Friday night, 228 people registered for the walk and raised more than $20,000.

The 5K walk is to recognize survivors and those still fighting breast cancer. As of Saturday morning, she still needed three more weeks of radiation.

A sea of pink flooded the streets of downtown Biloxi as thousands came out to support putting an end to breast cancer.

"A positive attitude will help you get through the day, but there will be days that it's extremely hard", Smith said.
