New lawsuit alleges Google discriminates against white male conservatives

Google Memo Author James Damore Sues Company For Discrimination Against White Males

James Damore, the ex-Google engineer who was sacked for a controversial August memo about, among other things, women in tech workplaces, filed a lawsuit on Monday against his former employer for discriminating against conservative white males.

Damore and another former Google engineer, David Gudeman, claim that their "perceived conservative political views", male gender, and Caucasian race were the basis of discrimination they faced at the company.

Damore, Gudeman and company were "ostracized, belittled and punished for their heterodox political views, and for the added sin of their birth circumstances of being Caucasians and/or males", the suit reads.

In the memo, Damore argued that women are biologically ill-equipped for senior engineering positions, and that Google's diversity efforts should be examined in regards to their "costs and benefits".

In their lawsuit, the pair claimed Google staffers openly discussed in meetings how women and members of certain ethic groupings would receive preferential treatment when it came to hiring and promotions.

Damore was sacked in August after his anti-diversity essay, distributed within Google, was made public. Defending the liberal agenda, or defending violations of California employment law, is not in any Google employee's job description.

Two former Google software engineers are suing the tech giant, claiming that it discriminates against white people, conservatives and men.

Israel publishes list of BDS-linked groups banned from entry
Erdan said on Sunday that the groups "operate consistently and continuously" against Israel using a "campaign of incitement and lies".

Debate surrounding discrimination in the male-dominated tech world has raged for months, with women at numerous major Silicon Valley companies coming forward with stories of bias and sexual harassment.

Google is also facing allegations that it discriminated against women who taught its employees' children at the company's preschool. He claimed that women's "neuroticism" and men's "higher drive for status" are among the factors that contribute to gender disparities in tech.

The suit features an image of an e-mail from Alex Hidalgo who works at Google who explicitly told Damore that he was a misogynist and that he would harass him until one of them was sacked.

While many have condemned Damore's views, others in the Silicon Valley tech world have wondered if there was a bias at Google that disallowed the open expression of politically conservative viewpoints.

During a press tour after his firing, Damore said being conservative at Google was comparable to "being gay in the 1950s".

The suit claims that Google uses "extreme" and "illegal" practices to keep these dudes down. Dhillon said she expects dozens of other conservative Google staffers to join the class-action suit.

All this means busy times ahead for Google's legal department, which is also fighting a resurgent discrimination lawsuit brought by ex-Googlers upset they were being stiffed on pay and promotions due to being women.
