Taliban attack leave 20 ANA soldiers killed

More than 20 killed in attacks in Afghanistan

Afghan officials said a suicide bomber has killed two security personnel and wounded seven in an attack in the diplomatic area of Afghanistan's capital, Kabul.

Last month, President Donald Trump issued a stinging statement deploring a Taliban-orchestrated suicide vehicle bombing that killed at least 95 people and wounded 158 others in Kabul. Danish said the initial casualty count could rise.

At the moment none of the terrorist groups has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Waziri said he had no more details of the attack. Two people were wounded in the attack.

In Helmand province, two soldiers were killed in a auto bomb attack at the entrance of the army base in Nad Aali district today.

The bombing took place in an area near an Afghan spy agency facility as well as the U.S. Embassy and other Afghan and global institutions.

During the clash 12 Taliban insurgents were also killed.

The Russian Olympic committee posted a letter to its website expressing "sincere regrets" for the incident. The positive test will ignite further debate about the involvement of Russian athletes at the Games.

Insurgent attacks on Afghan security force facilities have intensified since the end of NATO's combat mission in 2014.

ISIL, which is trying to make inroads in Afghanistan, claimed responsibility in a message on their Amaq news agency.

Islamic State's Afghan affiliate, which first appeared near the border with Pakistan in 2015, has become increasingly active and has claimed several recent attacks, although Nicholson said its strength had been severely diminished and the movement had only between 1,500 and 2,000 fighters.

Afghanistan has seen rampant instability since the 2001 invasion of the country by a United States-led North Atlantic Treaty Organisation coalition, which ousted a Taliban regime at the time.

Ahmadi, the Taliban spokesman, also claimed responsibility for the Helmand attacks in a statement sent to journalists.

Other attacks were carried out in Afghanistan's southern Helmand province and the national capital, Kabul, where a pair of deadly attacks last month - a bomb in an ambulance and a hotel siege - had already renewed doubts over Afghan authorities' ability to keep people safe.
