In an interview on Monday, Kevin Johnson said the Philadelphia branch manager who called police on the two men last week has now left the company.

One officer asked a man whether he is "with these gentlemen".

Starbucks is trying to ramp down a racially charged uproar over the arrest of two black men at one of its stores in Philadelphia.

Starbucks has also revealed that the manager who called the cops is no longer employed by the company. It's unclearwhen Johnson will meet with the men.

Following the viral video, Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson issued an apology on April 15, stating that "these two gentlemen did not deserve what happened, and we are accountable".

Starbucks has removed the manager from the store but declined to state whether she is working at another location.

Two black men are arrested at a Philadelphia Starbucks, after refusing to leave the coffee shop.

Commissioner Richard Ross said Starbucks employees called 911 to say the men were trespassing. The young man filming said "I'm not allowed to be in here anymore?"

He said he wrote the letter to convey three things. Yaffe says. "Does anybody else think this is ridiculous?"

Teachers in Arizona, Colorado walk out for more school money
Thousands of teachers and #RedforEd supporters are expected to march starting at Chase Field and ending at the State Capitol. Colorado now falls drastically short of funding its schools, by about $822 million annually, according to The Denver Post .

Over the weekend, demonstrators called for the firing of the employee who contacted police on Thursday.

"I'd like to have a dialogue with them so that I can ensure that we have the opportunity to really understand the situation and show some compassion and empathy for the experience they went through", Johnson said on Good Morning America.

"There are some situations where the call to police is justified".

Mr. Johnson said he wants to personally apologize to the two men. The arrest sparked public outrage on social media, with many accusing Starbucks of treating its customers unequally based on the color of their skin.

Q: What do you want to tell them?

Starbucks says it will close its more than 8,000 US stores for several hours next month to conduct racial-bias training to its almost 175,000 workers. He said the officers "did absolutely nothing wrong" and were professional in their conduct toward the individuals but "got the opposite back".

In the video, posted below, police officers can be seen handcuffing the two men and leading them from the coffee shop. He says that the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations will be in contact with Starbucks about its practices and policies.

Melissa DePino, an author who posted video of the arrest, said she was told later on Thursday that the two men, both real estate brokers, were released without charge.
