President Trump is unfit for office - Bob Woodward's 'Fear' confirms it

Defense Secretary James Mattis then told colleagues Trump had the mental ability of'a fifth or sixth-grader

White House staff concerned about President Trump's leadership have hidden documents from him to prevent him from signing off on certain actions, according to reports about an explosive new book from renowned Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward.

Revelations featured in the book include Defense Secretary Jim Matthis reportedly describing Trump as having the understanding of "a fifth- or sixth-grader" after a National Security Council meeting where the president questioned why the American government was spending money on a military presence on the Korean Peninsula.

Trump's former personal lawyer John Dowd also pushed back against allegations against him, including that he described the President as "a f--ing liar" and that he told Trump he would end up in an "orange jump suit" if he testified to special counsel Robert Mueller.

Woodward tried to interview Trump, but a meeting was never arranged because the request was rejected by Chief of Staff John Kelly, who was still smarting over previous tell-alls by Omarosa Manigault Newman and Michael Wolf. "I don't even know why any of us are here. This is the worst job I've ever had", Kelly is quoted as saying at a staff meeting.

According to another anecdote from Woodward's book, in April 2017, Trump told Mattis that he should start making plans to assassinate Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad. "Let's kill the (expletive) lot of them", Trump said. It describes how Trump's closest aides have taken extraordinary measures in the White House to try to stop what they saw as his most risky impulses, going so far as to swipe and hide papers from his desk so he wouldn't sign them.

Trump reportedly questioned why the USA was spending money and military resources in the Korean Peninsula during a National Security Council meeting in January.

Woodward also describes an administration where members of staff simply ignore Trump's more extreme orders. At one point, Conway comes into the room, and Trump asks her directly, "Why didn't you tell me?"

Woodward, along with reporter Carl Bernstein, helped uncover the Watergate scandal that led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon.

Trump persuaded Cohn to stay on after Charlottesville, but the former Goldman Sachs executive ultimately left the White House in March after Trump moved forward with tariffs on imports of steel and aluminum.

Jake Wilson told WEAR-TV that the strong wind was bringing a lateral current "where it's just going to push you down the beach". There is a Storm Surge Watch in effect for the Mississippi-Alabama border westward to the Mouth of the Mississippi River.

Current and former White House officials estimate that almost all of their colleagues cooperated with him.

Dowd is quoted as telling the president, "Don't testify". Find out why they're reportedly calling him names.

Kelly then reportedly confided to Cohn: "I would have taken that resignation letter and shoved it up his ass six different times".

Cohn has said he almost resigned over Trump's press conference in which the president blamed both white-supremacist protesters and counterprotesters.

Did the president speak to Woodward?

The book quoted Trump accusing his attorney general, Jeff Sessions, of being "mentally retarded". I've never seen a worse defense of me in my life.

On Tuesday, Kelly denied comments attributed to him in the book. "He's this dumb Southerner", Trump said, affecting an exaggerated Southern accent.

The president also denied that senior aides took sensitive documents from his desk, saying "there was nobody taking anything from me".

Perhaps some of the strongest rhetoric came from former FBI Director James Comey, who called Trump "morally unfit to be president", "untethered to truth", and "unethical". I'm committed to the president, his agenda, and our country.
